France Responds to Waving of Palestinian Flag in Parliament by Re-Banning Burkini

It was, perhaps, an inevitability of being lenient with the burkini, with consequences appearing in the French National Assembly. For one thing, difficult questions about the French government are being posited for its role in the situation in Gaza. For another, MP Sebastien Delogu has waved the Palestinian flag in the halls of the assembly, not respecting the feelings, culture, or bikinis of his colleagues.
Though the government was unable to hang Mr Delogu from the Eiffel Tower as an example, it could not let this moral lapse of judgment go unchallenged, calling a halt to the parliamentary session, giving Delogu the highest sanction allowed by the French National Assembly’s regulations, and re-banning the burkini from France, adding that it would take “all measures necessary to prevent its entry into the national consciousness” of French government.
