US imposes strict sanctions on Russia so Putin will learn a lesson by watching his people suffer

US President Joe Biden said his harsh sanctions, meant to repel the Russian aggression against Ukraine, will be so that Russian President Vladimir Putin will see with his own eyes the resulting suffering endured by all Russians, hoping it would serve as a deterrent against future provocations.
This step comes after many successful US sanctions regimes around the world managed to exhaust institutions, peoples, and economies around the world while occasionally disturbing the peace of mind of their leaders.
The sanctions have also had unexpected benefits, such as turning Iran into an environmentally friendly country that does not export all of its oil, sharpening Venezuelans’ mathematical skills by forcing them to grapple with the astronomical prices caused by inflation, and guiding Syrians who live below the poverty line on how to live minimalist Sufi lives that transcend all worldly filth.
Biden said he hoped that the Russians’ cries would increase steadily until they reach Putin's ears.
“They won’t only disturb him, but will also distract him and interrupt his rapturous focus on the tank engines heading west,” Biden said. “That should keep him busy, while we have more time to brainstorm, strategize, and impose new sanctions.”
Although it has been only a few days since the implementation, the desired effects have already begun to manifest themselves among the Russians; the Russian ruble has fallen to the lowest level in its history, taking along with it Russians’ purchasing power.
