Local man Samer Amer joined Wednesday a series of free online courses, downloading all the relevant e-books and material, in an effort to increase the number of emails that arrive daily in his inbox and that he ignores entirely.
Samer said the daily arrival of a large number of emails and his subsequent decision to ignore them help make him feel important.
“It increases my self-confidence and allows me to complain about endless emails like managers at companies,” he said.
“In addition, the sheer amount of information in my inbox allows me to work in any field and in the best companies,” he added. “All I need to do is go to my inbox and spend a day or two learning about the field, and if I manage to get through the whole backlog I will be overqualified to work at any organisation and will even have the skillset to launch the new Google or Amazon.”
Samer said he was confident the courses would be useful one day.
“I will take advantage of the free offers right now before they become worth thousands of dollars,” he said. “And who knows, in the future I may need to learn marketing skills, Photoshop, Python, Chinese cooking, or carpentry.”
