Local driver Musab Abu Ghalmas gave free rein Monday to his car horn, slamming it down continuously in the hopes that the emitted sound waves would coalesce and slowly push forward the other cars in front of him in the traffic jam.

In an interview, Abu Ghalmas said many people believed the misconception that sound waves simply constitute harmless noise.

“They don’t understand that it is a form of energy that moves around in waves, as evidenced by the fact that it can break glass if it is focused on it, and it can therefore potentially move cars if applied in the same way,” he said.

He also said the use of car horns reduces accidents, since it can be used to limit road rage if used like a punching bag, in addition to covering up the sounds of other drivers hurling insults because of his use of the car horn.

Abu Ghalmas said that while he will not hesitate to rest his arm on the horn, he will make sure that the noise is balanced so as not to upset a large truck driver who might reverse his car and break his bumper, then claim that he was driven into, get out of the car, and smash the lights of Abu Ghalmas’s vehicle before pulling him out and breaking his nose.
