A shipment of motorcycle, car, and truck tyres has reportedly arrived for Hezbollah members and supporters, in what some sources describe as an effort to establish a new strategic deterrent stretching from Beirut’s southern entrance to the vicinity of the U.S. Embassy.
The shipment is said to include tactical tyres capable of obstructing air traffic controllers’ vision during the landing of Iranian planes, as well as remotely controlled tyres designed to manipulate smoke density and direction, potentially affecting the Lebanese Army. Reports also suggest the inclusion of cyber-disruptive tyres, which, when ignited, emit electronic signals intended to prevent surveillance systems from tracking Hezbollah communications. The development marks a significant shift from the group’s existing Nokia 3310-based communication system, reportedly adopted after Israel’s pagers attack last year.
Israeli officials are said to be concerned about an alleged plan led by Hezbollah commander Hajj Khalil Harb. According to sources, the strategy involves deploying thousands of tyres across southern Lebanon in preparation for what has been described as a "rubber offensive." This would reportedly see hundreds of thousands of tyres rolled towards Galilee simultaneously, with claims that such an action could lead to widespread respiratory issues, including asthma and lung cancer, in addition to broader geopolitical ramifications.
